Face Veneer is an important part of plywood manufacturing. Putting a face on ply is not just color but also directly related to mechanical and physical properties hence there was recommended thickness that needs to be in 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm for making standard quality plywood. Using the face of genuine thickness certainly helps to hide the impression of resin on the surface of plywood that creates smooth surfaces and better looks. Secondly, it pastes along with the cross-section of Core Veneer, hence it improves the mechanical properties of plywood which is related to the durability of finished products.
Decorative face veneers are the reason SRK Impex is specified as a material and the primary determinant of panel costs. Learning to specify the wood specie, cut, match, and grade of veneers that achieve precisely the desired appearance is an art unto itself and can require much study and experience. What we hope to accomplish here is a brief overview of veneer types and characteristics and their impact on appearance. While there is a multitude of wood species to select from, we are concerned here with commercially available veneers, both domestic and imported.
